An appeal...
It's been a very long time since I've used LJ. Longer since I've read posts. This had mainly been due to the amount of time I'd spent here and some drama that ensued here a long time ago.

Since then I've been doing a lot. Right now I'm making a documentary film.

it's about a woman with anxiety and agoraphobia who is travelling the world to meet all of her Facebook friends in an attempt to cure herself. We launched something on Kickstarter a while back and today, we are 17 hours away from the deadline. I'm appealing to the LJ community, my old friends, to support this project. To post about it. Spread the word. Pledge if you can.

I appreciate your help and your support.

I just joined, and I only wanted to say that I'm really very interested in the project.
Some information would be nice!

Sort of update
A bit of an update on the last entry. Wenonah received the camera in Tucson, took her picture and then forwarded it on to Cate in Texas. Cate will shortly be forwarding the camera on to Molly in Cincinatti. From there? Not sure yet but it will stay in the US for a while.

Update at last
OK, so the camera went from Claudine to Wenonah and has now arrived with Cate. When I get a moment I will update the map etc. This thing is starting to move again, I am rather pleased.

It's a damn shame but
if I don't get news of what's happening with the camera soon i will just have to close the whole thing down. Damn shame.

Things going according to plan?
Not really, I've been a bit tardy this last week. Claudine received the camera and I only just sent the guidelines to her. I have yet to figure out who to send it to next either. Must do that today. Claudine, have you taken your picture yet?

The map has been updated as well.

OK, this time Lisa really has sent the camera off and it should be with Claudine in the next few days. Lisa described the picture she has taken to me and I think it will be a good one. Just waiting for the commentary to accompany it, no rush for that though.

Things have moved on
The camera arrived safely in California and Richard Denner has already sent it off to the next recipient. Richard has also provided commentary for his photograph in the form of a poem.

The camera is now travelling from one side of the USA to the other, just below Washington D.C., and should be with Lisa Gaidanowicz within the week.

The map has been updated.

Photo No 1
The first photograph has been taken and I'll tell you this, deciding what to photograph is extremely difficult. There are a 100 different pictures I could have taken. In the end I managed to settle for just one image.

The camera is now packaged up and set to go to the next recipient. I have created a Map so that it can be more easily followed.

I have the camera!
Seven people have signed up for this project so far and this prompted me to actually go out and buy a camera for us to use. It's a Kodak Advantix with 2 formats - Normal and Panorama costing 10.99, In total there are 25 photo's so that's how many people we will eventually need. We can get started right away though.

Now I have to take the first picture.

I have no idea what to take at the moment. Will give it some thought.

The Comrades Camera Project.
We are sending a camera around the world and asking each person who receives it to take one picture.

What we are hoping to achieve with this project is to show peoples personal perspectives on the world in which they live through pictures and text. When the camera is eventually returned a section will be created within the Comrades web site with all the photos, photographers details and accompanying text.

It may mean something, it may not, but what the hell, lets do it anyway!
